Anglian Water is a forward thinking, change delivering, frontier pushing company that recognizes and respects that it's people are it's most important and valuable asset.
The values of Anglian Water and all of the normal company slogans actually feel like they mean something, and people here really do feel part of a bigger purpose.
I am well supported by my immediate managers and others across the business are always willing to help and share their knowledge. I am also well rewarded, particularly for the region we work in.
The additional benefits available to employees, annual leave, medical cover, mental health and financial support are exceptional.
As a regulated business, reward (whilst fair) is lower than similar roles in truly private sectors (but more secure).
There are some really big challenges facing the water industry, if you aren't passionate about change and progress - the hard work needed over coming years will be a negative.

Great company and true to their purpose

Anglian has put purpose at its heart and has the culture to ensure it delivers on it. That has shone through in the way it has supported its employee and the communities it provides services to during 2020 and the pandemic. No furlough, retaining recruitment, developing employee hardship funds, launching emergency grants for communities in need.
It's a great company and so people want to stay and progress and so competition to get in and to progress can be tough. But the there are plenty of opportunities to make your achievements visible.

I am currently a part of the apprenticeship program with Anglian water, since starting here it has become extremely clear that they take great pride in how they treat their employees. They go out of their way to ensure that all employees get what they need to complete their job. 10/10.

Company is a customer focused company, always looking at ways to improve its service. For colleagues it supports flexible working and has a great range of benefits which you can choose from to suit you and your family
Lots of different business units so can take a little time to work through what different parts do and what everybody does, but company induction is good and people take the time to explain their area so its a matter of fitting it together

In my experience, the teams at Anglian Water are so flexible to meet your career needs. Most staff are more than willing to offer council and help to make sure you get the most out of your experience with the team. I was based in the Water Recycling side of the business and within this got to work on a range of different projects. On top of this, I got the opportunity to experience other departments in order to get a good idea of the extent of the work that Anglian does.
The experience is what you make of it. You can put little input in and get little as a result or put your all in and gain more experiences. Maybe a little more pushing of interns needed.

Regulated industry, means that things sometimes more slower than you may want.

- Leadership within the business lead through example and demonstrate good behaviours.

- Good working environment and facilities.
- The organisation promotes a good work life balance.
- Not as well structured in terms of processes and standards as my previous employer (however this was one of the worlds largest business & largest in its industry).
